Nespresso Announces Partnership with Lebanese Fashion House, Sarah’s Bag, to Launch First Regional Upcycled Product

The exclusive collaboration introduces a limited-edition artisanal bag crafted from recycled Nespresso capsules, cementing both brand’s commitment to sustainable craftsmanship.

Renowned for its high-quality coffee and unwavering commitment to sustainability, Nespresso has partnered with luxury Lebanese fashion house Sarah’s Bag to create a limited-edition artisanal bag, meticulously crafted using recycled aluminium Nespresso coffee capsules in its design elements.

Featuring a striking 3D flower centrepiece, each piece is handcrafted using 75-80 recycled Nespresso capsules and delicate glass beads, merging upcycling with the intricate artistry of Lebanese embroidery. Each bag is a testament to meticulous craftsmanship and innovation, handmade by women, taking over 15 hours of production to create each masterpiece. Designed in Sarah’s Bag’s iconic clutch format, the canvas of the bag is made of woven straw to resemble jute coffee bags and lined with soft cotton. It features a brass push clasp-fastening, an inside pocket, and a detachable 60cm brass chain, combining practicality with artisanal elegance.

The recycled capsules are cleaned off coffee grounds and delivered to Sarah’s Bag by Nespresso’s official recycling partner in Lebanon, Arc en Ciel. The team of artisans at Sarah’s Bag then flattens each capsule with a hand tool, transforming the aluminum into delicate pieces of sequin which is then embroidered into the floral design presented on the bag.

At the heart of the partnership is a shared commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. Just as Nespresso empowers coffee farmers through its AAA Sustainable Quality™ Program, Sarah’s Bag has been transforming lives through artisanal craftsmanship since its inception. Founded in 2000 by Sarah Beydoun, the brand was born out of her research into Dar Al Amal, an NGO that rehabilitates women at risk and female ex-prisoners. Inspired by their resilience, Sarah launched Sarah’s Bag to provide these women with training, employment, and economic independence-turning a social mission into a global luxury brand.

From Nespresso’s commitment to circularity and innovation to Sarah’s Bag’s dedication to craftsmanship and social impact, the idea for this collaboration was born.
