Rebecca Cregan is a dedicated and passionate educator with a career spanning over 18 years, focusing primarily on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). She graduated from the University of Central Birmingham (UK) in 2007 with a BA (Hons) degree in Primary Education and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). During her time at university, she had a variety of teaching experiences, her most favourite experiences were those in the Foundation Stage. She firmly believes that these early years lay the foundation for a child’s entire educational journey. It is in the Foundation Stage that children develop essential skills such as communication, social interaction, and emotional resilience. Rebecca believes that every child is unique and ensures that her Foundation Stage team share the same ethos at HIS nurturing the children’s natural curiosity, creativity, and love for learning.

Rebecca began her teaching career in the UK, gaining over five years of experience across various year groups. Her deep commitment to the early years led her to specialize in the EYFS, where she has devoted 14 years of her career. In 2012, Rebecca joined Horizon International School as an FS2 teacher. Her leadership abilities quickly became apparent, leading to her promotion to Middle Leader, where she successfully led the FS2 Team.

In September 2019, Rebecca’s journey at Horizon International School progressed as she took on the role of Assistant Principal, overseeing the entire Foundation Stage. During her tenure, she completed her National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL), further enhancing her leadership capabilities.

Rebecca’s educational philosophy centers on the belief that every child in the Foundation Stage should be given the opportunity to reach their full potential through a balanced approach that combines learning, play, self-assurance, and the development of positive relationships. She is committed to fostering happy, confident, and well-rounded learners who develop a genuine love for education.

Rebecca continues to inspire both students and colleagues with her unwavering dedication to early childhood education, ensuring that the youngest learners at Horizon International School are set on a path of lifelong learning and success.
